The Gympie Gold Rush Festival is a celebration of Gympie's history, with Rattler Steam Engine rides, Queensland Gold Panning Championships, fireworks and the famous Street Party! This event is held on the third week of October each year.

The Mary Valley Heritage Railway and Woodworks Forestry and Timber Museum also provide outstanding links to the regions railway and timber history.
