NSW - NERRIGA - BREATHTAKING SCENIC GORGE COUNTRY

Nerriga abounds in goldmining history and is at the gateway to breathtakingly scenic gorge country.


This is a small rural village situated on the edge of the Morton National Park and Sassafras Mountain.

With the Endrick River and the Tianjara Falls nearby, both part of the southern end of the Yarramunmun gorge with sub-tropical ferns and vines.

From Morton National Park, there is walking access to places such as Round Mountain, Camp Rock, Newhaven Gap, Quilty Mountain, Mt Budawang, Corang Peak and the Castle.

In the village itself, the Nerriga Trading Post is a caravan park and shop with take-away food, fuel and camping supplies.

The Nerriga Bark Tree Hotel was built around 1864 and offers hearty meals and accommodation, and the former one-teacher schoolhouse is now a museum with many fascinating exhibits (open by appointment).

The Oallen Ford on the Shoalhaven River, between Nerriga and Windellama, is a popular spot for campers and fossickers.
