QLD - The Beautiful ATHERTON TABLELANDS

We are a community with a population of approx. 7500 people, situated 2466 feet above sea level, with most of the industry here being farming. Potatoes, Corn, peanuts, dairy, sugar cane, avocados, mangoes and the list goes on.



We're located up in the mountains, about 1.15 hours above Cairns & there's so many great places to see and things to do here, that you just can't do it in less than 3 full days.

Just to name some of the attractions, there is Lake Tinaroo (which is three quarters the size of Sydney Harbour & famous for the big Barramundi & Red Claw) Lake Barrine & Lake Eacham (both volcanic crater lakes), Kairi

Tolga - home of the peanut, Malanda - waterfalls, Yungaburra - the Curtain Fig Tree & monthly markets, Millaa Millaa

Millaa Lookout, waterfalls & the Old Cheese Factory, Mungalli Falls, Herberton - historic tin mining town, Irvinebank, Ravenshoe - Windy Hill wind turbines & Millstream Falls, Innot Hot Springs, Mt Garnet - Rodeo Country, Blencoe Falls, Mareeba, Granite Gorge, Davies Creek National Park, Kuranda, Dimbulah, Chillagoe - home of the Limestone Caves, Mt Surprise, Undara Lava Tubes, Koombaloomba Dam, Mt Hypipamee Crater,a mango winery, Coffee Plantations etc etc.
